Disclaimer
Important limits on weather accuracy, data sources, travel safety, and liability.
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Please read this Disclaimer carefully before relying on any GenWeather forecast, map layer, planning suggestion, or related content. GenWeather provides informational weather tools, not official emergency guidance.
1. Weather accuracy disclaimer
Weather conditions change quickly. Temperatures, precipitation chances, wind, humidity, UV estimates, air-comfort notes, and map overlays may be delayed, incomplete, rounded, estimated, or temporarily unavailable.
Displayed values are for general information only. They may differ from official observations, airport reports, local sensors, or national meteorological service products.
Do not use GenWeather as your sole source for aviation, marine navigation, severe-weather response, medical decisions, or other safety-critical activities.
2. Data source disclaimer
GenWeather obtains weather and related atmospheric information from configured third-party sources through GenWeather Core and supporting infrastructure. Coverage, update frequency, and field availability vary by location and provider capability.
Some Home features (including planning guidance and certain map or health indicators) derive recommendations from a current snapshot and heuristics. Those outputs are decision aids, not guarantees of future conditions.
3. Third-party weather source disclaimer
Upstream weather providers, map tile providers, and hosting vendors are independent parties. GenWeather does not warrant that any third-party source is uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Provider outages, API limits, key configuration issues, or network failures can cause missing cards, empty search results, unavailable map layers, or fallback messages.
4. Travel and safety disclaimer
Travel, outdoor activity, clothing, and health-oriented suggestions on GenWeather are informational. They do not replace official travel advisories, road reports, avalanche bulletins, heat/cold warnings, air-quality alerts, or medical advice.
Before travel or outdoor activity, check authoritative local sources and prepare for sudden weather changes. In emergencies, follow instructions from local authorities and emergency services.
Optional browser geolocation is controlled by you. Location permission is never required to use search-based features.
5. No liability section
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GenWeather, its operators, contributors, and affiliates are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, delay, or expense arising from reliance on weather data, maps, planning tools, search results, or site availability.
This includes, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
6. No professional advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes professional meteorological consulting, legal advice, medical advice, or insurance advice. Always seek qualified professionals and official agencies for decisions that could affect health, safety, property, or regulated activities.
